Experience
I started my college education at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Here, I received a BA in Chemistry. I later went on to obtain a masters and a PhD. I lived a nomadic lifestyle growing up, as my father was a military man. I attended school both in England and the United States and frequently moved around to different schools. I learned to adapt to new settings, teachers, and teaching styles as a student.Thanks to this experience, I was able to help other students with their learning needs. In 7th grade, I remember helping an older student with his algebra work. I hadn't yet learned algebra, myself, yet I found a way to work through the problem with him. At an early age, I began to be a mentor.In some capacity, I have served as a teacher and mentor for almost 50 years. I like to work with students to help them better see the problem at hand and to find their own way to work through the issues that are present. I like to help my students better enjoy the learning process. I can teach on various subjects, including English, science, and math. I work with students of all ages.
